SSIS ETL DEVELOPER

Technical Expertise:
  • Proven hands-on experience and expertise with Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is an asset.
  • Superior database querying, and query optimization skills using Structured Query Language T-SQL. MDX and/or DAX is an asset
  • Advanced experience with data analysis and profiling, data mapping, data modeling
  • Expert working knowledge of the following Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) tasks/components/features:
    • SSISDB, Integration Services Catalog, and project deployment mode
    • Data Flow, Merge Join component, Script Task (VB.Net & C#), Execute SQL Task, File System Task
    • Script Component (VB.Net & C#) is an asset
  • Expert working knowledge of MS Visual Studio with SSDT
  • Expert working knowledge of SQL Agent including creating/configuring/monitoring jobs
  • Expert working knowledge of MS SQL Server databases including stored procedures, indexes, joins, merge join, views, common table expressions (CTE), execution plans
  • Strong hands-on experience problem-solving skills including troubleshooting data discrepancy issues
  • Strong hands-on experience performance tuning of long running queries
  • Strong hands-on experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Git source control with Visual Studio

Overall capability:
  • Expertise (10 years or more) in developing ETL solutions, relational and multi-dimensional databases and data marts
  • Advanced knowledge, and experience in application of best practices of data standards, database design, data architecture and modelling
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and system analysis skills including the ability to comprehend complex large scale environment operational issues, preferably in health care
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terminology
  • Self-directed and motivated. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Persistence and a positive attitude are essential
  • 5+ years experience in working for large projects
  • Strong understanding of health care system operations and public and population health concepts is a definite asset
  • Expertise in SSIS ETL development.
  • Experience working in Azure cloud environment is an asset
