Responsibilities:
The Business Architect will be responsible for supporting the portfolio's vision to re-imagine healthcare data and interoperability capabilities, fostering a more connected healthcare system, and promoting a citizen-centered, digital-first mindset. The Business Architect will support the Digital Excellence in Health digital and transformation strategy, roadmap, and change management, working closely with stakeholders and teams to deliver business outcomes across a complex stakeholder landscape. The Business Architect will design business and operating models to achieve its strategic vision and build transformative capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
· Facilitate Business Model Innovation and Transformation:
o Analyze existing business and operating models to identify areas for innovation and transformation.
o Develop and implement innovative business models aligned with Ontario Health's strategic goals.
o Collaborate with partners to ensure successful adoption of new business models.
· Support Fiscal Responsibility:
o Evaluate digital and data services for cost-effectiveness and value for money.
o Monitor and report on financial performance and resource utilization to align with budget constraints.
· Guide Modernization Efforts:
o Assess current processes to identify modernization opportunities.
o Define and implement new processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
o Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to guide modernization efforts.
· Standardize data and interoperability capabilities and processes:
o Develop and enforce standards for data and interoperability for OH.
o Design and implement streamlined processes.
o Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
· Implement Customer-Centered Digital and Data Transformation:
o Advocate for a customer-centered approach in all digital initiatives.
o Design solutions to enhance user experience and satisfaction.
o Gather and incorporate feedback from users to continuously improve digital services.
Desired Skills:
· Knowledge and experience with Data and Interoperability frameworks, services and models providing the ability to integrate and identify digitally-enabled opportunities to solve business pressures/needs;
· Knowledge and experience with cloud operating models, modern information and interoperability patterns, implementations and solutions
Must Haves:
o 3-5 years’ experience in conducting digital and data-related value stream analyses, documenting "as is" and "to be" processes, and aligning them with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT).
o 3-5 years’ experience in developing and implementing operating models with a focus on governance, engagement, and alignment with interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and clinical data governance practices.
o 5-7 years’ experience in business architecture methods and tools, such as business process mapping, capability modeling, and value stream analysis, with a focus on digital health, interoperability, and clinical data governance.
o Proven ability to manage partnerships and lead cross-functional teams in delivering business architecture and governance solutions aligned with healthcare interoperability and data standards.
The deliverables for the Business Architect include, but are not limited to:
· Architecture Artifacts:
o Develop conceptual and business architecture artifacts to aid solution architectures, business processes, requirements, program and product design and structures, and business canvas models.
· Operational Model Implementations:
o Develop and lead the implementation of operational models, including capability maps, value streams, business context diagrams, and motivation models.
· Cross-Functional Facilitation:
o Support the DHIEX Program by facilitating cross-functional teams to prioritize workstreams.
o Facilitate interaction with business leaders, product managers, and owners to discuss the risks and implications of decisions on the line of business, business unit, and enterprise.
· Management Consultancy:
o Provide consultancy services to business leaders, units, and stakeholders, supporting design thinking, business modeling, ecosystem modeling, innovation management, IT investment analysis, and operating model design.
· Innovative Solutions:
o Create innovative solutions to identified challenges, propose recommendations for improvements, and develop and track performance metrics and outcome measures.
o Deliver tailored transformation recommendations and action plans to guide business leaders and initiative owners.
· Initiative Leadership:
o Lead assigned initiatives from end-to-end, ensuring successful delivery.
· Process and Procedure Development:
o Facilitate the development of new processes and procedures to enable transformation without compromising business and operational continuity.
· Best Practices Support:
o Support best practices such as design thinking/user-centered design, customer experience, service design, LEAN/LEAN Startup, Agile methods, customer journey mapping, user research, and user experience.
