Job Description: Responsibilities:
- Provide Capital Markets Expertise: Leverage your capital markets knowledge to provide pragmatic and actionable guidance on data governance policies and practices specific to this domain especially in managing Materials Non-Public Information (MNPI).
- Develop and Maintain Data Governance Framework: Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards, procedures, and metrics.
- Develop and maintain an Enterprise Data Model: Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive enterprise data model, aligning it with business needs and regulatory requirements within the financial services sector.
- Align Data Governance Architecture: Ensure alignment of data governance architecture with the overall enterprise architecture to meet data quality, security, and compliance objectives.
- Establish Data Governance Processes: Define and implement key data governance processes, including data quality management, metadata management, data lineage, and data access control.
- Cross Functional Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, data owners, risk managers (Lines of Defense), and IT teams to ensure alignment and adoption of data governance principles.
- Facilitate Senior Leadership Engagement: Confidently interact with and influence senior leadership, effectively communicating data governance principles, strategies, and key progress indicators.
Drive Data Governance Implementation: Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory obligations (e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, etc.).
- Oversee CRM Implementations: Provide data governance guidance and oversight for large-scale CRM implementations and deployments, ensuring data quality and compliance throughout the process with familiarity with Salesforce, SAP, and Google integration.
- Champion Data Governance Solutions: Utilize your expertise with leading data governance and content management solutions like Collibra, Box, and Google to establish effective data governance processes and workflows driving process efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving data regulations within the financial services and privacy industry (such as open banking, and bill C-27) and ensure organizational compliance.
- Contribute to Data Architecture: Collaborate with data architects to align data governance principles with the overall data architecture strategy.
- Conduct Business/Process Analysis: Analyze and document business processes and data flows to identify data governance requirements and opportunities for improvement.
- Promote Data Literacy: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance data literacy and awareness of data governance principles across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Extensive Experience: Demonstrated success as a Data Governance Consultant in financial services, with a strong focus on compliance and regulatory adherence.
- Strong Understanding: Deep knowledge of capital markets and financial services operations, regulations, and data management challenges.
- CRM Expertise: Hands-on experience with large-scale CRM implementations and deployments, including data migration, integration, and governance.
- Tool Proficiency: Expertise in data governance and content management solutions such as Collibra and Box.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant financial services and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PIPA, CCPA, GLBA) and their impact on data governance.
- Data Architecture Skills: Solid understanding of data architecture principles and best practices.
- Business Analysis Acumen: Ability to analyze business processes, identify data requirements, and translate them into data governance solutions.
- Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data governance concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leadership and Facilitation: Proven ability to facilitate discussions and influence senior stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Management, Finance).
- Relevant data governance certifications (e.g., CDMP, CGEIT) are highly desirable. |
