RQ00139 - Technology Architect - Senior

About the Role 

We're seeking an exceptional Solutions Architect (Contractor) to join our vibrant Enterprise Architecture team for a 6 month contract. As a key member of our team, you will assist with individual project solutioning and requirements clarification. You will also work with business analysts to understand detailed requirements of incoming projects and support the Architecture planning process and documentation.  

In this role, you will assist in the development of OCS’s Architecture solutions across channels including, but not limited to, OCS.ca, ERP and B2B channels. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze business requirements and create solutions to solve business problems 
  • Translate business requirements into application and operational designs 
  • Assist Business System Analysts and Product Owners with the Functional Design Documentation and Jira ticket details 
  • Provide functional solution design in form of a design specification to support business needs 
  • Document current and target states 
  • Document current and desired business processes to ensure optimal efficiency 
  • Develop the architectural blueprint and document the process 
  • Present Architecture solutions to ARB panel, IT, and business teams 
  • Execute assigned tasks within a structured project environment 
  • Implement, configure and develop components of core enterprise applications 
  • Conduct a preliminary testing and evaluation of a developed solution 
  • Analyze proposed changes against the technology ecosystem to assess feasibility and understand the effect on the solution, data collection and interfaces 
  • Partner with the appropriate business units to identify business process efficiencies 
  • Provide support to the business during hyper-care period after a project go-live 
  • Provide support in resolving of production issues in enterprise applications 
  • Be a subject matter expert (SME) across OCS’ systems and integrations 
  • Assist in the establishment and implementation of an architecture and standards methodology. 

 

About You  

  • Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or related areas OR equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 3+ years of experience with implementation & support of Microsoft Dynamics AX/365 Finance & Operations, or Supply Chain Management 
  • 2+ years of experience with implementation & support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales / CRM. 
  • Experience building integrations and documents and master data within Microsoft Dynamics AX/365 
  • Experience with database technologies such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL 
  • Some experience in Architecture principles, Systems Integration, and Application Development is preferred  
  • Ecommerce / retail applications experience is preferred 
  • TOGAF or other Architecture methodology is preferred  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)  
  • Understanding of Modules within Microsoft Dynamics AX/365  
  • Understanding of day-to-day platform operations, month end and year end close process 
  • Scripting knowledge is an asset  

About the Job 

  • This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule. The current in office requirement is a minimum of 3 days/week (may be more depending on business needs). The OCS office is located near York Mills and Yonge Street. However, OCS reserves the right to change this policy and its office location at any time.
