Project Manager to oversee a large ERP implementation for our client

12 month contract
On-site: Mississauga 
Reports To: Sr. Director Centre of Operational Excellence 


About the Job

The Project Manager will provide Project Management leadership for planning, executing, and monitoring strategic and operational projects ensuring alignment with business goals and enable enterprise capabilities. This individual will be responsible for planning and executing projects across multiple functions. It is a very high-visibility role that requires exceptional stakeholder engagement, both internal and external and critical thinking skills, with significant independent responsibilities. This role will manage relationships with business sponsors and project owners.  Project Manager will report to the Sr. Director Centre of Operational Excellence.


Position Accountabilities

•    Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).
•    Support meeting and improving business performance goals and objectives, collaborating closely with senior executives across the organization. 
•    Perform analysis to identify project opportunities, generate insights, and scope strategic initiatives to support decision-making
•    Work with business leadership to define project scope, project activities, timelines, resources, and budget 
•    Develop and maintain highly effective working relationships with all stakeholders at all levels both internal and external
•    Manage creation and maintenance of project documentation including a project management plan, project charter, scoping requirements, etc;
•    Manage and prioritize project deliverables. 
•    Develop and manage detailed project schedules. 
•    Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy and progress.
•    Oversee stakeholder management to identify challenges and resolve project-specific issues.
•    Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party vendors to ensure project efficiency. 
•    Contribute to the strategy and growth of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office.
•    Lead project status meetings to control and monitor project progress.
•    Conduct regular meetings with CoE leader and business leaders to provide project updates and ensure alignment on objectives and awareness of results.
•    Manage approvals, acceptance, and signoffs for project initiatives.
•    Drive the development of financial forecasts and budget plans as required for assigned projects
•    Prepare and deliver timely communications to project stakeholders and the business regarding project initiatives.
•    Understand project scope and requirements and be able to prepare a business case for a project by conducting meetings/interviews and facilitating large group/cross-functional sessions with partners.
•    Keep business partners and stakeholders informed on progress or projects, issues, risks, financials to ensure transparency, business input and collaborative decision making.
•    Maintain awareness of current and future direction of industry peers and various partners, and where appropriate, make recommendations for new initiatives and/or ways of working.
•    Develop strong relationships across the organization for effective collaboration
•    Foster strong relationships with the Executive team and business leaders across the organization
•    Support coordination across the organization to ensure alignment and synergy in strategic efforts



Experience and Qualifications Required

  •  6 years relevant work experience in project, program, and portfolio management, project planning and execution in retail, distribution or consumer packaged goods 
  • Must have proven experience working on a large ERP or packaged software solution implementation, and business integration initiatives, 
  • SAP implementation experience an asset 
  •  Experience with Monday.com considered an asset.
  • Background in distribution, CPG, or B2B business preferred.
  • Min 2 years of people leadership experience 
  • PMP certification an asset, must have working knowledge of project management methodologies and proven performance of delivering successful results 
  • Familiar with both Waterfall and Agile project practices.
