Satellite to Mobile project is to provide our costumers with emergency connectivity where there is no traditional terrestrial coverage, generally in remote parts of the country. Field testing of the service is required as the satellite coverage is constantly changing due to changes in the constellation, and optimizations as well validation requires of the service and devices. Due to the nature of the service, testing can only be performed in remote areas of the country, there will be a lot of travelling. Additional help is required to execute these tests.

What are the chances of extension after 50 days: too early to say at this point.
Will need to book own travel and accommodations - will this be paid by Rogers or the contractor needs to pay from his own pocket: contractor will need to book their own flight/car rental/hotel based on the testing needs out of own pocket and expense these afterwards in which Rogers will reimburse.
Would a vehicle and mileage be provided: no vehicle will be provided, milage (which incudes gas and wear and tear on the car) can be provided if contractor is using own car. However, a car rental is preferred for insurance purposes. Rogers will cover the car rental and gas for the trip.
What remote locations are being considered? Can you please specify: initial locations would be around the Timmins ON and Northern Quebec, Yellowknife and Whitehorse in the Territories with possibility of BC and Alberta.
Technical skills required would be as follows:- Manual testing of wireless devices (predominately smart phones)
- Knowledge of how to send/receive SMS/MMS/RCS, PLMN network scanning, knowledge of how to disable/enable functions on the device, device UI
- Proficient at reading RF metrics from device test mode
- Executing test cases based BRT (Business Readiness Test) predefined list of test cases
- Device logging, video/screen captures of events
- Understanding of RF propagation
- Knowledge of wireless metrics like RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ, PCI
- Contractors will work in conjunction with BRT to valid the satellite services
- Manual testing of wireless devices (predominately smart phones)
