US Tax Specialist

Our global financial services client is currently searching for a US Tax Specialist to join their growing team.

What you will be doing:
  • Prepares required US federal, state and local income/franchise tax returns, quarterly estimates and annual extension requests for the client’s Americas’ U.S. Subsidiaries.
  • Assists in the preparation of externally prepared US federal, state and local income/franchise tax returns, estimates and extension requests for certain of the client’s Americas’ U.S. Subsidiaries.
  • Prepares New York City commercial rent tax return(s) for all of the client’s Americas’ U.S. Branch and Subsidiary operations.
  • Assist in preparing annual U.S. tax information reports (forms 1042/S, etc.) for all of the client’s Americas’ U.S. operations.
  • Prepares accounting entries to properly reflect the accrual and/or payment of estimated tax liabilities for the client’s Americas’ U.S. Subsidiaries.
  • Prepares quarterly current and deferred tax analyses for the Client’s Americas’ U.S. Subsidiaries.
  • Prepares reconciliation of tax reserve accounts for the client’s Americas’ U.S. Subsidiaries.
  • Prepares/issues U.S. tax certifications (Forms W-8ECI, W-8IMY or W-9) to clients and other entities, including determination/confirmation of representations with the client’s Americas’ Front Office personnel.
  • Assists in the preparation of responses to Information Document Requests (IDRs) in connection with tax return audits of the client’s Americas’ U.S. U.S. Subsidiaries by the Internal Revenue Service, NYS Department of Taxation and Finance and the NY City Department of Finance and other state and local tax authorities.
  • Prepares subsequent reporting of related tax return changes to other tax jurisdictions as appropriate.
  • Participates in special projects, as required.
Your qualifications:
  • CPA license and/or graduate degree with specialization in Taxation.
  • 4-5 years public / private experience in US Tax practice/department.
  • Experience with US inbound tax issues is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in a commercial bank or broker dealer is preferred.
  • Previous experience in tax with US corporations.
  • Strong accounting knowledge.
  • Communication skills, technical tax skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
