Project Coordinator – Fibre Construction
As a Project Coordinator within the Fibre Construction team, you will be responsible for
assisting a team of Construction and Project Managers deliver multiple large scale fibre optics
programs totaling 1,000’s of km. Given the scale of these programs, close attention needs to
be paid to budget, schedule and quality in order to ensure a successful outcome.
Close collaboration will be required with the Network Engineering teams to ensure
comprehensive network specifications are developed and that new fibre networks are
delivered on-time and on-budget. Close collaboration will also be required with the IP
Operations and Field Operations teams to ensure a smooth go-live transition of new
infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:
Contribute as part of a cross-functional team in the planning, design and
implementation of new hybrid fibre wireless networks
Support and assist the Fibre Design and Construction team throughout the full life cycle
of a fibre design and construction program
Track and report on; budget, schedule and quality
Support the creation of a construction bill of materials then order, track and report on
costs and delivery
Track and report on project specific KPIs as identified by the internal team and key
stakeholders
Create new projects in internal project management system
Create new project budgets in SAP and assigned specific general ledger codes to the
activities
Administer and maintain project SharePoint site ensuring all relevant and required
documentation is stored in accordance with company standards

The ideal candidate will possess:
Engineering Degree (electrical or civil), Technologist Diploma (electrical or civil), or other
relevant post-secondary degree or diploma
Must be Bilingual - French and English
Minimum 3+ years of experience in telecommunications design, engineering and
construction environment, specific experience in large scale FTTx deployments an asset
Knowledge of fibre optic network construction techniques, construction equipment and
fibre optic network technologies for use in both outside plant and inside plant
applications
Ability to read and comprehend design and construction drawings
Proven ability to collaborate with 3 rd party engineering and construction firms
Proven ability to collaborate and work across functions / teams ensuring successful
project deliveries
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated professional written and verbal English communication
Excellent computer skills, particularly in the use of Google Earth software, QGIS, CAD
software and Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel and Project
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional
(PMP) certification an asset
Experience with SAP is an asset
Experience with Quickbase is an asset
Willingness to travel
