Network Analyst, Intermediate

Ontario- Hybrid, Ontario

Reports to: Senior Manager, Datacenter Services


Purpose of the Role The Network Analyst is responsible for providing support, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintenance of a 7X24 Network environment. As the first line of support to the business, they will diagnose and resolve hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion.


Core Accountabilities

  • Install, configure, monitor and manage network and data communications equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of network infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot network problems; provide tier 2 support; ensure issues are resolved as per published service levels or escalate to the appropriate level/team
  • Provide maintenance to equipment as required or coordinate maintenance with outside suppliers
  • Schedule changes and coordinate maintenance activity with carriers; coordinate problem resolution to ensure published service levels are maintained
  • Maintain technical configuration documents and review/update processes and procedures and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Support senior team members with infrastructure projects; in particular the Team Lead for Datacenter Services, LifeLabs’ Employees, IT Peers and Project Managers
  • Participate in the change management process to ensure the impact of initiatives by other departments on communications is understood and planned for appropriately


Minimum Qualification and Skills

  • Bacheor's degree in IT or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years of related work experience
  • Sufficient knowledge of networking and data communication fundamentals
  • Good understanding of the OSI network model
  • Sufficient knowledge of network management tools
  • Experience with firewalls
  • Experience with wireless an asset
  • Cisco/Palo Alto/Azure certifications or experience
