Sr Project Manager - 04169

The Project Managers will be required to:

  • Manage strategic data and information projects including, but not limited to, Daily Capacity Monitoring Project, the IntelliHealth Expansion Project and Digital and Data Plan Projects as assigned.

  •  Provide senior level expertise and advice regarding operational, business and financial issues impacting HDB projects, business operations and other strategic initiatives

  • Provide senior level budgeting and financial management on HDB projects

  • Provide strategic advice and support to HDB to ensure effective governance, risk management, mitigation and negotiation strategies and recommended approaches to support project success

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic HDB communications and foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Ministry and government priorities

  • Create and deliver informative presentations to various Ministry leaders for the purposes of consultation, clarification and approval-seeking for key HDB project

  • Develop, manage and maintain third party vendor relationships, including resolving vendor-related issues

  • Develop and maintain documents including project charter, integrated project plan, financial tracking documentation, resource plans, issues log/tracking, status reporting, and governance agenda/minutes/action items

  • Work with other Project Managers to support the use of industry best practices with regards to release management, change management, incident management, problem management, privacy and security breach management pertaining to the HDB projects

  • Prior to contract completion, prepare a final project report for each assigned project which clearly documents milestones, lessons learned and deliverables achieved and hand over all project-related documentation

Skill Set Requirements:

Project Management:

  • Seven (7) or more years of demonstrated senior project management experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing all phases of large-scale data projects including IT integration projects

  • Demonstrated experience leading business projects and achieving successful results on time and on budget with high customer satisfaction;

  • Demonstrated experience in leading program or organizational transformation initiatives.

  • Expert knowledge of operational business processes

  • Track record of successful project delivery within approved plan, scope and budget

  • Strong working knowledge of project methodologies and standards (e.g. PMBOK) and tools (e.g. MS Project)

Health Sector and Data

  • Expert knowledge of the healthcare system and processes;

  • Understanding of data platforms and solution, health analytics products and tools within the health system

  • Expert knowledge of modernizing data collections and underlying processes

  • Understanding of evidence-based information and key data sources used in the provincial health sector (e.g. clinical, financial and statistical)

Stakeholder Relationship:

  • Experience in navigating complex strategic, policy and business issues and providing advice to senior executives.Leadership experience in urgent, high-priority projects requiring expert stakeholder relationship management and communications skills

  • Demonstrated experience building strong collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and business partners;

  • Strong ability to clearly communicate activities and expectations;

  • Demonstrated experience resolving conflicts and major obstacles;

  • Demonstrated ability managing cross-functional project teams and effectively working in a matrix environment.
