Job Description: Summary

The Solutions Architect’s role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the overall architecture and engineering of client hardware and software technologies and services that support core organizational functions.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

Build the strategic technology and capability roadmap(s) for the enterprise; communicate and drive the implementation of its short-term and long-term objectives. Develop comprehensive strategies for client hardware and software including how they integrate with the organization.
Identify new technologies and platforms that also help solve technical challenges or limitations in the existing infrastructure and operations.
Work with IT leadership to define the architecture vision and strategy, through collaboration with technical and business partners across the enterprise.
Define and apply technical architecture standards for scalability, reliability, performance, resiliency, interoperability, security, mobility and total cost of ownership.
Identify opportunities to leverage enterprise-wide tools for automating, monitoring, and managing the current and future technology environments in a proactive manner.
Evaluate global best practices along with current and future-state trends to develop standards for the organization allowing us to continue to support where we are and where we are going.
Identify emerging trends in IT solutions in order to better align technical solutions with customer needs.
Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in client architecture including analysis of cost reduction opportunities. Document the organization’s existing client architecture and technology portfolio. Make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
Review and ensure adherence to Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy by serving as an advocate.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline.
8+ years of direct architecture related activities, with 1+ years of that in architecture strategy and complex architecture design.
8+ years’ experience in enterprise class client systems; including desktops, notebooks, workstations, mobility, and peripherals.
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work with and effectively influence a team.
Comprehensive technical writing skills for technical, user, and training documentation.
Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices.
Possess a broad and deep expertise in client software, hardware, imaging, management structures, software distribution, and communications technology across multiple platforms.
Solid understanding of software as a Service (i.e., O365), and the impact / interoperability with legacy infrastructure components.
Proven project planning and management experience.
