Integration Team Lead

The Integration Team Lead will report to the Director, Enterprise Architecture and will be involved in designing and evolving the Enterprise Integration Platform (EIP), helping migrate system interfaces and working with developers to build new system integration environments in conjunction with the Integration Architecture. 
 
They will map APIs, legacy interfaces and other non-realtime integration methods that describe the organization’s current state and recommendations for future state and provide integration product direction. They will also provide comprehensive recommendations and direction through proficient understanding of integration methods, techniques and designs along with associated systems, while also ensuring definition of standards and governance to optimise IT operations. 
 
Core Accountabilities
  • A leader in integration platform knowledge
  • Help establish and maintain the Enterprise Integration Platform and associated technology artifacts for the IT systems in support of LifeLabs’ integration environments and ensure they are aligned with the IT technology plans and architecture roadmaps. 
  • Evangelize and champion benefits of Enterprise Integration to business and technical audiences.
  • Validate, expand and refine the API and interface publish-and-subscribe Cloud orientated model.
  • Collaborate with a high performance team of IT specialists, architects and leaders. 
  • Collaborate with units within IT and provide a consensus-based enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable and synchronized with the business needs, especially in relation to the Architecture and Development Teams.
  • Work with various business and IT stakeholders to demonstrate and show business value of enterprise-wide integration applications, associated services and new platforms being considered.
  • Ensure the completeness (fitness for purpose) of the integration platform(s). 
  • Capture and evaluate key functional requirements of integration elements such as APIs, streams, queues, etc. 
  • Work with the LifeLabs Development Teams to ensure governance and processes appropriate for design, creation, maintenance, operation and monitoring of APIs and interfaces in internal and Cloud environments.
  • Concentrate on the elements that can add significant value to the organization without being too detail orientated in areas that add little value. 
  • Help develop and maintain policies, standards and guidelines that facilitate the selection, development, implementation and use of integration technologies within the enterprise. 
  • Ensure new and existing API/interface specifications are compliant with IT standards, policies and plans. 
  • Document the integration environment and relate to vendor product roadmaps, while keeping up-to-date as part of the platform lifecycle. 
  • Maintain a list of corporate integration APIs, queues, streams, file transfers and the integration with external partners, government organisations and service providers, managing characteristics such as end-of-life, business fit, software dependencies, etc 
 
Requirements
  • 7 years general IT experience with an additional 5 years of experience in a technical SME role.
  • University degree relevant to Information Technology, or equivalent experience 
  • Strong experience of software development methodologies and structured approaches to system integration development 
  • Strong knowledge of middleware / SOA and SaaS/Paas/IaaS solutions and the applicability of web services and APIs in those environments
