Our client is in need of several Project Manager 3 consultants in either Calgary or anywhere in Canada for an initial 12-month contract.
Responsible for large sized, complex projects
Provides overall direction to the formulation, development, implementation, and delivery of a project. Plans and manages all aspects of a project including, but not limited to, scope, execution, and budget
Manages projects comprised of multiple sub-projects and tasks. Evaluates project deliverable changes and determines their impact on related and interdependent tasks and projects
Develops detailed project plans. Monitors and controls project plan. Conducts status reviews with team leaders and management.
Identifies variances and initiates corrective action to stay on target.
Resolves and/or ensures appropriate resolution of all business and technical issues
Identifies and manages risks associated with the project. Develops and executes contingency plan
Negotiates changes in scope, budget or calendar with Project Owner and/or management
Performs analysis of schedule, regarding resources, costs and task completion.
Maintains effective communication of status with Project Owner, management, and the team
Must have skills:
§ 1 PMP certification (achieved or in process of achieving)
§ 2 - 4 years Project Management experience leading medium to complex projects
§ Experience dealing with ambiguous scope, complex solutions and untested technology
§ Ability to thrive in an ever-changing, fast paced environment
§ Solid client interaction experience
§ Strong communication & presentation skills (oral and written)
§ Ability to seek creative and innovative ways to deliver client solutions
§ Demonstrated Project Management skills including creating project plans & schedules, change management, stakeholder management, risk management and project reporting
§ Ability to lead, work with and steer cross functional teams
§ Comfortable interacting with vendors, clients, internal teams
§ Understanding of the clients organizational delivery processes
§ Sound working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, MS Outlook
§ Security clearance: candidates must have a minimum level of Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability or be eligible to obtain this security clearance
§ Good influencing and negotiating skills
§ Natural leader
§ Ability to prioritize
§ Knowledge of infrastructure, network and cloud concepts
§ Experience with public sector clients
