C++ Developer

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Working on a small team, building a beautiful new modern application

  • Contribute suggestions and new ideas to enhance performance, usability, and quality

  • Research and develop new technologies to help the project succeed

  • Turn business and product ideas into prioritized, estimated, and detailed tasks

  • Give and receive constructive feedback within your team

  • Ensure development best practices are in place and are functioning effectively 

  • Maintain, improve, and support the both the new and existing products 

  • Take a turn presenting new ideas or concepts in the team’s monthly Lunch & Learn 

  • Report to the Director of Development  

  • Willingly take on other tasks as required 


Experience and Skills 
Must haves: 

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science/related field OR equivalent work experience 

  • 2+ years of software development experience 

  • Strong skills and experience developing C++ libraries

  • Some experience developing modern responsive web applications in HTML/CSS/JavaScript

  • Some experience working with cloud-based services and storage - ideally in AWS

  • Familiar with the development industry’s best practices and how to implement them

  • Experience with version control software and processes

  • Ability to learn quickly and assist others with their learning objectives

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills

  • Encourages and accepts personal feedback graciously

  • Comfortable working at a small, dynamic company 


Nice to haves: 

  • Experience working with CAD systems – or even better: building CAD tools 

  • Graphical application development using OpenGL/WebGL 

  • Advanced math and geometry skills

  • Experience using Emscripten in web applications

  • Web & Mobile technologies and frameworks such as React and TypeScript

  • Experience developing, configuring, improving, monitoring, and maintaining cloud-based services and storage - ideally in AWS

  • Experience building new products and bringing them to market.

  • Desire to debate and explore new technologies

  • Design and develop comprehensive automated unit and regression tests 

  • Design and develop comprehensive CI/CD solutions
