Sr. Interaction Designer 3 - 15723

As UX Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and evolving the design standards, guidelines and guiding principles to optimize our design practitioners' ways of working and enhance our end to end customer experiences. Additionally, you will contribute the day-to-day delivery for particular programs and provide guidance to practitioners to support their day-to-day work.
You will be a part of the design Centres of Excellence, alongside other Domains SMEs. In this role, you will be expected to have tight interlock with other SMEs, as well as the Design Principal, and work collaboratively with them to reach the best outcomes for the design practice.
You will report directly into the Design Centre of Excellence Manager, who will support you in determining team priorities and measures of success.
  • Define standards and best practices and drive adoption
  • Develop, maintain, evolve, promote and implement standards, guidelines and best practices to help guide practitioners’ day-to-day work
  • Drive adoption of standards by the practice and provide guidance to practitioners in their interpretation of standards and guidelines
  • Actively engage and support practitioners with interpreting standards or other standards adoption challenges they may face
  • Develop the guiding principles to shape the ways of working for all practitioners across domains
  • Deliver on CoE outcomes and define and measure delivered value
  • Define Design Centre of Excellence team and individual role success criteria, metrics and the measurement mechanisms based on the overarching practice outcomes
  • Deliver on Design Center of Excellence priorities and commitments in the backlog
  • Define, execute and report on individual Design Centre of Excellence roadmap, priorities, backlog, and KPIs
  • Execute and report on audits and provide recommendations based on metrics

Lead Knowledge Sharing & Communication
  • Curate and organize relevant resources for practitioners (e.g. standards, documentation from past projects, POVs, retrospectives, how to guides etc.) - leveraging existing knowledge management platforms
  • Actively engage in regular communication with practitioners through office hours, regular meetings with outcome teams, workshops and informal slack channels
  • Trial and formally assess leading design technologies and tools that can enhance the productivity of practitioners
  • Work closely with the tool provider to ensure rollout, training and documentation for each tool is provided to practitioners

Provide Special Project Advisory consulting
Establish the "north star" templates to support Digital initiatives / projects
Consult on the day-to-day delivery for a specific product/program or special projects, ensuring standards are being met and provide escalated Design subject matter expertise

Support Practitioner Development and Engagement
  • Support the preparation and facilitation of forums and learning events relating to Design subject matter expertise
  • Provide consultative support and guidance to drive the overall team member experience and engagement of practitioners


Design Subject Matter Expertise:
  • The ability to provide knowledge, expertise, and guidance on a particular domain, providing coaching and advice to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to provide strategic guidance on how the discipline can drive accountability and adoption of standards and guidelines
  • Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: The ability to lead, coach, motivate, empathize and collaborate with other SMEs and practitioners
  • Analytical & Problem Solving Skills: The ability to assess and analyze opportunities within the discipline and identify solutions and data-driven recommendations based on metrics and benchmarks
  • Change Management & Communication: The ability to drive change and adoption by communicating discipline-specific concepts and engaging with diverse stakeholder groups across disciplines
Must to have skills:
1. 5 years in the UX/Interaction Design field
2 Experience with Design tools (i.e. Sketch, Invision, Figma)
3.Experience working as a Sr/Lead/SME within an Agile environment (Not looking for Agency Design work)
4.Eperience working and advising on Accessibility Standards in Design
5. Experience working with a Delivery Development Team, Digital Design Team, or Multiple Stakeholders is considered a huge asset

Nice to have skills:
1. Photoshop Experience
2. Experience in the process for Hiring Designers (Questions to be asked, being part of the interview panel)
3. Strong Presentation skills
4. Proven Collaboration and Mentoring experience
