Network Technologies - Network Analyst II

Job Description: Summary
The Network Analyst will be primarily involved in the migration of ISUP trunk circuits between locations and network elements on the Shaw Wireline Network

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Migration and provisioning of network ISUP/SS7 trunking to meet the demands of upcoming capital projects and day-to-day capacity management
• Prioritize workload according to project deliverables
• Work with internal and external teams [TELUS, Bell, etc] to plan, schedule, and coordinate these activities
• Perform pre/post-verifications of network changes as required

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in a computer related discipline (in a networking background) and/or 4-7 years of Network Analyst experience. A combination of education and network experience may be considered
• Strong knowledge of voice SONET, ISUP/SS7 signaling technologies including (but not limited to) routing, switching, TCP/IP, MPLS, DWDM, and SONET
• Familiarity with various network and provisioning platforms, Genband/Ribbon C20 and G9, Telcobridges TMG3200, Fujitsu SONET
• Exceptional problem solving, organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail
• Knowledge of the AASR process. The process by which we place trunk workorders with the ILEC and other CLECs.
• Ability to work independently, from a home office for the at least the next few months
• Goal oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
• Team player with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• The ability to handle challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
