Career Opportunity: Quality Assurance Analyst
Our clinet has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Analyst in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager, Video Services, the successful candidate will be accountable for the testing and verification of PPV Scheduling and Video Services Management/Monitoring tools.
  • Develop and implement test plans, test cases and test scripts (both manual and automated) to ensure software products meet the organization’s standards and end user requirements
  • Help with the QA effort on various projects and initiatives as primary tester
  • Provides unique business insight and troubleshooting solutions
  • Execute all types of test approaches including but not limited to functional, security, performance, regression, and smoke testing of enhancements and fixes to existing and new application/web services
  • Drive testing activities based on a solid understanding of the business drivers, business needs, business risks, technical solution and technical risks with an awareness of the expectations of the quality characteristics for the software;
  • Identify, log, and follow-up on all defects encountered
  • Provide hands-on support to your team; resolve technical and non-technical issues, manage risk, ensure high quality of work and the successful delivery of all software iterations and releases;
  • Ensure evolving industry best practices are incorporated into test planning and implementation;
  • Ensure the appropriate use of test automation and testing tools;
  • Provide regular status reports/updates to business stakeholders to make informed decisions;
  • Various other duties as required
 Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or technical diploma in computer science or related discipline/relevant experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in varied and complex IT delivery roles within a software development environment including:
    • 3+ years’ experience in software quality assurance and testing
    • 2+ year test automation experience
  • Proven ability to apply core QA/QC concepts to testing problems within areas they may or may not have had exposure or experience with
  • Hands-on knowledge of software quality assurance/testing methodologies, practices and related standards
