Infrastructure Consultant – Level 1

  1. Overview of the Assignment       
This is a specialized analyst position that is part of the team that is responsible for the management and overall security of the Government network. The primary responsibilities will be to implement, monitor and maintain critical Information Technology (IT) network and security systems. This resource requires a strong technical background and experience in various Enterprise Security and Network technologies. This resource will be part of the team that ensures the protection of Government IT infrastructure and data against unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure using advanced security and network concepts, techniques and standards.

General Qualifications
§ Degree or diploma in computer studies/networking technologies, supplemented by continuing education in IT security (or equivalent)
§ CISCO and/or Fortinet certification 
§ Experience with administration, life-cycle management, and maintenance and support of enterprise network and/or security infrastructure, such as network firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-malware/anti-spam systems, proxy systems and other security solutions. 
§ Experience with network incident identification and remediation, including understanding of network devices, protocols and scanning as well as the remediation of associated events and incidents. 
§ Excellent communications skills (written and oral)
Technical Qualifications
This resource requires strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in networking technologies like firewalls, network monitoring and alerting systems, and wireless networking solutions. The resource will require in-depth skills in the various security technologies such as SIEM, Firewalls, IDPS, network monitoring. 
Specific skill sets and experience required include but are not limited to the following. 
§ Fortinet Firewalls and Management console
§ Cisco Wired and wireless Network
§ SolarWinds
