Coordinator - OSP Construction (09051)

Our client is currently seeking a Coordinator/Administrator to join their team. Reporting to the Manager, National Planning the successful candidate will be accountable for coordinating new and replacement plant construction activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Coordination and Technicians
  • Complete some minor work in autocad\
  • Looking map information up 
  • Coordinate some day to day operations for civil & electrical contractors
  • Work with contractors and agents to ensure that the processes are followed and the quality of work and timelines meet our standards
  • Assist in establishing, monitoring and recommending changes to departmental guidelines to improve efficiency and controls
  • Various other duties as required
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Diploma in a CAD or engineering related course with 3 to 5 years experience in coaxial and fibre optics design or construction would be considered an asset
  • Experience in civil construction would be considered an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Experience working with Microstation or AutoCAD, and working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office is considered an asset
  • Goal oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work well within a team environment
  • Adaptive, quick learner, exceptional organization and reporting skills with the ability to have attention to detail while multi-tasking
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and must provide a driver’s abstract annually
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience from within North America of OSP Coordination.
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Strong Excel and MS Access Skills
- Willingness to get involved and drive projects from day 1 with little to no ramp up or training time
- Proactive nature
- Team player 

Initially our client is looking to hire on a 6 month contract with a high probability of multiple extensions
