RF Engineer 2 / Ingnieur RF 2 (12536)

Position Overview:

Working with Technology Strategy teammates, stakeholders, and vendors, the successful candidate will be responsible for LTE and 5G RAN technology design and development, solution optimization, and provide technical support for Broadband Network P&E teams inside our client. The candidate must possess solid knowledge of HSPA and LTE products, 3GPP specs, RF design and optimization and is willing to take challenges to deal with customer service impacting issues.
  1. Responsible for new LTE/5G Radio Access Technology design & development, including both hardware, software and features
  2. Communicate/clarify our client requirements to vendors and evaluates responses
  3. Translate LTE and 5G technical aspects into business impact and vice versa
  4. Propose solutions and features deployment and optimization engineering guideline
  5. Validate vendor compliance to industry/our client standards and the functional and performance requirements by conducting lab proof of concept and interoperability testing, etc.
  6.  Keep well informed of the latest technological developments relating to field of practice and may provide guidance to more junior level team members
  7.  Provide technical leadership in managing production network critical issue trouble shooting and performance enhancement;
  8. Designing REST API as well as RAN CME integration with north bound network management systems
Requirements:
  • Solid knowledge on LTE/5G RF design and optimization (3+ years’ experience), Proficient in RF propagation and modeling, interference, link budget analysis and network infrastructure (Macro cell, Micro cell, Pico cell, wireless CPE) and protocols (TR-69, TCP/IP).Understand future network technology evolution: HeNet (small cell), Cloud-RAN, 5G NR, MEC, Network slicing, and NFV/SDN…
  • Familiar with 3GPP spec., including air interface implementation, RRM, MM, and RF compliance.
  • Good Experience with wireless technology E2E impact analysis, business/user case study, and cost modeling
  • Hands-on experience with the network/performance testing tools such as IXIA, SmartBits, Chariot, QXDM, Agilent drive testing tool, XCAL, TEMS, and Actix tool IP based application knowledge and exposure to network security would also be assets.
  • 2 or more years performing lab evaluations including and not limited to proof of concept, network modeling (includes availability studies, end to end cost analysis, etc). Experience in writing test plan for different scenarios, collecting requirements from users, and capturing radio network management process in Itential Pronghorn
  • Ability to provide on demand, specialized technical advice for the solution of a number of wide ranging problems and to interact with others including on a proactive customer focused basis
  • Familiar with network trouble shooting procedure and performance enhancement process with knowledge related to both RAN, Packet Core and transport network system level
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent with 5-7 years of related telecom engineering experience and familiar with Operational Support Systems (OSS)
  • Knowledge of building radio access network cell site deployment process
  • Experience in designing workflow process for integration among RAN CME NBI, Itential Pronghorn, and management portal
  • Knowledge of or experience with Ansible: playbooks, roles and modules
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and spoken English communications skills.
  • Possess a good team spirit and have the ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Self-starter, capable of taking initiative to identify and resolve problems
Must have skills:
