Project Specialist (87779)

The Project Manager will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate various facility related projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. Emphasis placed on reporting and monitoring progress, planning and scheduling, and project change order management. 

Duties & Responsibilities 
  • Assist capital planning documentation process 
  • Assist and or develop Statements of Work per project, complete with competitive bid process as required– draft RFP documentation 
  • Assume responsibility for assigned services and activities related to the management of specific facilities projects including design, bid, construction, and related functions and professional contracts to ensure completion of projects within budgetary, regulatory, and time constraints 
  • Prepare and submit project budget estimates 
  • Manage the budget and forecast process 
  • Plan and prepare project schedules, milestones and monitor progress against established schedules 
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules 
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors 
  • Regularly conduct status update meetings with project owners/stakeholders 
Capital Projects 
  • Estimated value of construction related projects in 2019 - 45M 
  • Exterior Waterproofing Membrane (multi year project) 
  • Roof Membrane Replacement (multi year project) 
  • Infrastructure and Fan facing projects o 
  • Florida Spring Training Facility Renovation 
Competency Requirements

Education & Skill Requirements 
  • PMP designation, would be an asset 
  • A College or University degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or relative field of study 
  • Knowledge of operational characteristics, services, and activities of facilities construction program 
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of construction / project management 
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office 
  • AutoCad experience, would be an asset 
  • AODA Legislation and Ontario Building Code, would be an asset
