The Automation Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test solutions across UI, API, and integration layers. The role focuses on increasing test coverage and efficiency through automation while ensuring quality across enterprise applications and backend systems.
Develop and execute manual and automated test cases across UI, API, and integration layers
Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Java, and approved automation frameworks
Convert manual test scenarios into automated scripts to improve coverage and efficiency
Participate in requirement and design discussions to ensure testability and clear test scenarios
Collaborate with developers, QA leads, BAs, and product teams to triage, validate, and resolve defects
Support end-to-end, system integration, and regression testing activities
Perform API testing and validation for REST and SOAP services
Validate backend logic and workflows using SQL and database queries
Maintain test data, test environments, and test documentation
Support UAT activities and business workflow validation
3–5 years of hands-on experience designing and developing automated test scenarios/frameworks
Strong experience automating Java-based applications using Selenium WebDriver
Hands-on experience automating API tests (REST & SOAP) using tools such as Postman and Swagger
Strong SQL skills with experience validating backend logic, data integrity, and database workflows
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with Jira, Git, SonarQube/SonarLint, and test management tools
Solid understanding of SDLC and structured QA/testing methodologies
Functional, integration, regression, and basic performance testing experience
Test case design aligned with business priorities, risks, and acceptance criteria
End-to-end flow validation and data validation across distributed systems
Experience creating test plans, test cases, and test data for different testing phases
Experience supporting and validating UAT activities
UI and API automation using standard frameworks (e.g., Selenium)
API testing using JSON/XML and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
Version control and automation execution via Git, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions
Exposure to accessibility testing standards (WCAG / AODA) is an asset
Programming/scripting experience in Java, JavaScript, or Python
Experience automating tests for COTS or packaged applications
Understanding of object-oriented testing approaches
Familiarity with information management concepts and data retrieval tools
Experience automating tests across both small and large enterprise systems
Exposure to Curam Business Process Objects (BPO) or ability to learn quickly
