Senior Manager, Forensic & Investigative Accounting

Remote — Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada  |  6-Month Contract (to start)

Hourly Rate: $180.00 – $190.00 per hour (Incorporated)

About the Role

Our client is hiring an experienced Senior Manager to join their GTA practice. This specialized group will give you a unique opportunity to apply and further develop your litigation, forensic, and investigative accounting skills. The variety of assignments will provide you with exposure to many interesting and challenging situations. Occasional out-of-town travel in Canada or internationally on short notice may arise, and may involve extended travel periods.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with Partners in providing client service and carrying out day-to-day field work on a variety of assignments, achieving quality and timeliness of working papers and deliverables

  • Manage several engagements simultaneously

  • Perform detailed and often complex financial analysis

  • Assist with interviews of individuals who have knowledge of, or are allegedly involved in, fraud, misconduct, or other engagement-related matters

  • Prepare file documentation and ensure appropriate document management

  • Assist with the preparation of written reports summarizing procedures and findings

  • Assist in establishing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring timely billing and collections

  • Assist Partners in new client evaluation, engagement acceptance, and related risk management practices

  • Supervise junior employees on engagements and administrative projects

  • Share in administrative tasks related to the operation of the Forensic practice

  • Actively participate in marketing and business development at a Senior Manager level, including developing your professional network, attending networking events, writing articles, and preparing and delivering presentations

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of professional experience including 2–4 years in a forensic role and 2+ years of assurance/audit experience

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required

  • Business degree required

  • Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access)

  • Experience with data analytics, SQL database, or eDiscovery software such as Relativity is an asset

  • Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation, CA·IFA designation, and Certified Financial Forensics (CFF) credential are assets

 

Compensation

The hourly rate for this contract position is $180.00 to $190.00 per hour (Incorporated). Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
