Senior QA Specialist - RQ10328

Job Title: QA Specialist (Senior)


Work Arrangement

  • Onsite

  • Hours: 7.25 hours/day (between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, excluding breaks)

  • Monday to Friday


Role Summary

The Senior QA Specialist is responsible for leading and executing quality assurance activities for a modern, cloud-based digital information system, including integration with internal and external applications. The role focuses on test strategy, functional and integration testing, automation support, and ensuring high product quality across the system lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test strategy, test approach, and test plans

  • Prepare and execute functional and unit test cases

  • Perform API and system integration testing and document results

  • Provide expertise and support for test automation planning, approach, and implementation

  • Support UAT activities and assist teams with recreating production issues

  • Participate in knowledge transfer activities

  • Collaborate with development and business teams to resolve defects and manage change requests

  • Ensure test coverage for functional and non-functional requirements, including accessibility and performance


Required Skills & Experience

QA Skills (40%)

  • 7+ years experience in testing and QA for cloud-based, enterprise-scale digital products

  • Experience developing test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

    • API testing

    • System integration testing

    • Browser-based digital applications

  • Experience managing defect life cycles using collaborative tools

  • Knowledge of performance, stress, and non-functional testing

  • Experience supporting and leading UAT activities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Technical Skills (30%)

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as:

    • Selenium

    • SoapUI

    • Postman

  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automation suites

  • Experience documenting and tracking tests and defects using tools such as:

    • JIRA

    • Azure DevOps

    • Asana

  • Knowledge of Accessibility / AODA compliance

  • Experience with version control systems

  • Hands-on exposure to technologies such as:

    • Web Services

    • HTML

    • JavaScript

    • .NET Web

    • SharePoint


Business & Collaboration Skills (25%)

  • Experience working with business stakeholders and technical teams to resolve defects

  • Strong communication skills with business users, stakeholders, and technical teams

  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify edge cases and quality risks early

  • Ability to balance quality requirements with delivery timelines

  • Experience coordinating end-to-end integration testing with partners


Public Sector Experience (5%)

  • Previous experience working in government or public-sector organizations


Knowledge Transfer Requirements

  • Knowledge transfer artifacts include:

    • Test scripts

    • Automation scripts

    • Test and defect reports

    • Testing process documentation

  • Knowledge transfer provided to:

    • Project Manager

    • Team Members

  • Knowledge transfer methods:

    • One-on-one sessions

    • Team meetings

    • Documentation stored on SharePoint

  • Knowledge transfer to occur throughout the project lifecycle


Must Have

  • 7+ years of QA experience in cloud-based enterprise digital products

  • Strong API and integration testing experience

  • QA experience with browser-based digital applications

  • Knowledge of Accessibility / AODA compliance

  • Knowledge of performance and stress testing

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Selenium, SoapUI, Postman)


Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of test automation engineering practices and processes
