Job Title: Specialized IT Consultant


Work Arrangement

  • Onsite – 5 days/week

  • Office-based assignment


Role Summary

The Specialized IT Consultant will act as a subject matter expert for Planview Enterprise, providing strategic advisory, solution development, application support, and reporting capabilities. The role supports clients by optimizing IT portfolio management processes, enabling reporting and analytics, and ensuring effective adoption and use of Planview Enterprise modules.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients to advise on IT solutions that meet business objectives

  • Provide strategic guidance on Information Management, IT systems, and enterprise solutions

  • Act as a technical SME and advisor for assigned deliverables

  • Provide quality assurance and quality control for deliverables

  • Anticipate and resolve issues to ensure delivery within scope, budget, and quality expectations

  • Develop processes and procedures to support implementation and adoption

  • Prepare reports, presentations, options, recommendations, and implementation plans

  • Develop data visualizations and automated reports/dashboards

  • Support system design, testing, installation, monitoring, and enhancements

  • Deliver end-user support and training across multiple user groups


Required Skills & Experience

Planview Enterprise Expertise (30%)

  • End-to-end experience with Planview Enterprise Portfolio Management

  • Subject matter expertise across all Planview Enterprise modules, including:

    • Intake

    • Financial Management

    • Request Management

    • Resource Management

    • Time Reporting

    • Strategic Portfolio Management

    • Capacity Planning

    • Investment Management

  • Experience administering Planview Enterprise (users, resources, lifecycle management)

  • Experience leading Planview Enterprise implementations and module rollouts

  • Experience supporting application upgrades and new feature adoption

  • Experience creating dashboards and reports using:

    • Planview reporting and analytics

    • Microsoft Report Builder v16+

    • Power BI Desktop and Power BI Pro

  • Experience writing SQL queries against Planview Enterprise databases


Solution Development Skills (30%)

  • Define software, hardware, and network requirements

  • Analyze I&IT requirements and provide independent, objective recommendations

  • Design, test, install, monitor, and implement new systems

  • Familiarity with change management principles and methodologies

  • Knowledge of Information Management principles and practices

  • Experience planning, organizing, and implementing projects and reporting solutions

  • Experience using structured development and implementation methodologies


Application Support & Training (25%)

  • Experience supporting clients using Planview Enterprise and resolving application issues

  • Ability to analyze problems and resolve Planview-related system and process issues

  • Experience delivering:

    • One-on-one training

    • Group training sessions

  • Experience developing training materials, job aids, and user guides

  • Experience creating professional documentation and presentations (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Interpersonal & Communication Skills (15%)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at both technical and executive levels

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to manage relationships across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to tailor messaging to all organizational levels


Must Have

  • Experience working with all modules of Planview Enterprise

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at business/executive and technical levels

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to clearly and confidently present to all organizational levels
