Core Technology Architect
Key Responsibilities/Job Functions:
-Individuals within the Systems Architecture and Engineering job family are responsible for the full lifecycle of technology infrastructure systems, including identification of need, sourcing, design, engineering, development, testing, deployment and third level support.
-They are expected to identify where the adoption and standardization of both existing and new technologies and architecture throughout the company will provide improved service and reduced risk at lower cost. They should be able to influence management at all levels in their acceptance and adoption of new technologies. They are knowledgeable of the full range of technologies available and build productive and beneficial relationships with their vendors. Having confirmed the company’s and the relevant users’ requirements, they support evaluate and select the appropriate technologies, ensuring full compatibility with all other appropriate existing and anticipated new technologies.
-System Architects and Engineers develop significant technical skills in one or more technologies such as; networks, hardware, operating systems, databases, and require well-developed project and people management skills.
Lifecycle and Roadmaps for Voice and Data platforms:
-Responsible for providing engineering teams support with the analysis, design, product selection, building and implementation of complex systems and technologies .
-Ongoing reviews and updates the voice and data networks platforms roadmaps, including SW and HW evolution , virtualization or migration to container based solutions
-Contributes to technical analysis, design, and implementation.
-Provides cost input for financial decision-making.
-Assists with capital budget planning.
Network performance benchmarking and improvements:
-works with various Rogers selected 3rd parties to evolve the benchmarking methodology to ensure Rogers position as best in class
-participates in test data analysis , and makes recommendations for network fine tuning to improve key performance indicators
-works with various Rogers internal teams and vendors to identify new tools and methods of service performance monitoring, reporting and finetuning
-provided weekly updates to the management team on the progress on all performance KPI related activities
Experience and Education preferred:
5 to 10 years of similar experience
Expert knowledge of wireless technologies UMTS, LTE , 5GNSA and 5GSA
Hands on expertise in applying 3GPP, ETSI and IEEE industry standards in large scale carrier environments
Working knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, Microservices, edge computing, orchestration, CI/CD pipeline integration and workflow automation in a cloud environment
Advanced troubleshooting skills for Cloud/IT Infrastructure would be an asset.
University Degree or equivalent in engineering/computer science discipline.
