Wireless Telecommunications Junior Drafter / Designer


Applicants being considered for this position will possess the following skills and abilities:
  • Good level of proficiency with AutoCAD (Version 2017 or later preferred);
  • Ideally will have experience in 3D tool such as Revit or AutoDesk
  • Knowledge and experience using Windows computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel);
  • Working knowledge of Metric and Imperial measurement systems;
  • 2+ years of experience working as a drafter including some experience in wireless telecom;
  • Strong analytical skills and good judgment;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Good communication skills – written, verbal, and drawing;
  • Ability to work well either alone or on a team;
  • Professional and friendly demeanor; represents company well when meeting clients.
Additional requirements:
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of wireless network infrastructure (towers, rooftop in-building) and related technical standards considered an asset;
  • Experience using SpatialNet considered an asset;
  • Experience in leading and coaching colleagues considered an asset.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Create drawings depicting wireless telecom infrastructure and equipment installation using AutoCAD;
  • Produce plans for municipal consent, landlord approval, and construction purposes;
  • Complete designs by gathering information from survey / field notes, wireless design specifications and other existing documentation;
  • Import AutoCAD, TIFF, DXF or other file formats;
  • Provide detail for power and fiber optic designs;
  • Work closely with operations managers, engineers, and other drafters to deliver a high quality designs to clients;
  • Complete projects within required lead times while delivering a high quality package;
  • Autocorrect their own work;
  • Participate in on-site visits as required.
