Are you an Audit and Assurance professional with their CPA designation and are looking to get into Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring? Our client, a respected growing professional services firm in Toronto, is expanding their restructuring and insolvency practice and are seeking a Manager of Restructuring and Recovery to join their growing team. This firm works directly with lenders, creditors, debtors, and various other stakeholders to provide restructuring and recovery solutions that preserve value, maximize recoveries, and stabilize distressed operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Working in a collaborative team and assisting with various tasks including taking possession of debtor premises, asset realization activities, preparing and reviewing written correspondence, spreadsheet/reports, financial models (including sensitivity analysis and “what if” scenarios) as well as inventorying assets
Communicating with creditors, reviewing and analyzing information provided by lenders, proofs of claim, etc. as well as liaising with various stakeholders, including clients, lawyers, lenders and other financial professionals as required
Contributing to and developing presentation and proposal materials for the team
Interacting with business owners to develop options for their financial challenges
Analyzing financial data and reviewing accounting records to assess the financial viability of a company
Attending marketing activities and developing a set of marketing contacts with a view to developing new business and assisting the team market its services
Completing administrative tasks as required
Being committed to ongoing learning in the area of restructuring
Requirements:
CPA designation preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting and advisory services
Experience as a Manager in public accounting such as in Assurance, Audit, M&A, Tax etc.
Experience in corporate restructuring and insolvency is preferred but not required.
Proven ability to build financial models and interpret complex data
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong client relationship instincts
Able to work independently or collaboratively within a dynamic team
Willing and able to travel within and outside the GTA (must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle)
