Project Manager - Engineering

emergiTEL is hiring a Project Manager for our client in the nuclear technology and radiopharmaceutical industry. This is a Permanent role.
Compensation: $100,000 - $115,000/year

Job Description (English)
Position Summary Reporting to the Manager, Production Irradiator Engineering, the Project Manager is responsible for leading multidisciplinary engineering projects from initiation through commissioning and closeout. This role coordinates engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful project execution while meeting financial, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives.
The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders and provides leadership to project teams to achieve project goals while managing risks, resources, budgets, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts while considering commercial, technical, legal, and regulatory requirements, and track progress as per the client’s product development process.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria.

  • Lead project kick-off meetings and establish communication plans.

  • Coordinate all phases of project execution from concept through commissioning.

  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as required.

  • Manage project change requests and ensure proper documentation and approvals.

  • Conduct regular project review meetings and provide status reports.

  • Prepare and present project status reports to leadership.

  • Manage customer expectations regarding scope, schedule, cost, and risk.

  • Coordinate communication between internal departments.

  • Identify project risks, maintain risk and issue logs, implement risk mitigation strategies, and report/escalate issues to management as needed.

  • Adhere to the client’s Environmental, Health & Safety Policies, Quality Management System, and organizational procedures.

  • Ensure proper project documentation is maintained and support project audits.

  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Qualifications
Education

  • Post-secondary engineering or other technical degree.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and/or leading multiple complex technical projects.

  • Experience managing engineering projects is preferred.

Certifications

  • PMP or other Project Management certification is a strong asset.

Skills and Competencies

  • Deep understanding of project management tools, techniques, and best practices.

  • Experience applying project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, and visual management.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

  • Recent and relevant experience with management systems.

  • Basic understanding of business principles and contracts.

  • Ability to learn new tools and techniques quickly and grasp unfamiliar technical concepts.

  • Strong leadership, influence, and motivational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment and influence across the organization.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.

  • Fluent in English.

Assets

  • Prior experience in the nuclear industry or other high-reliability, regulated environments.

  • Prior experience managing engineering projects and/or a technical engineering background.

Additional Requirements

  • Occasional overtime to meet project requirements.
