Benefits Coordinator

Our Client is looking for a Benefit Coordinator with the following responsibilities.

• Enrol and terminate employees for BC Medical Services Plan (MSP)
• Reconcile both MSP and GWL bills on a monthly basis
• Reconcile and remit WCB payments
• Record and track Time off in lieu amounts
• Proper record keeping of enrolments, waiting periods, work permit expiry
• Make any necessary changes and updates i.e. dependants, family status, beneficiaries, salary changes, contract version
changes, name changes.
• Manage LTD and Optional Life Insurance documentation
• Record adjustments, retroactive payments and calculate taxable benefits.
• Manage company cell phone accounts and reconcile payments
• Reconcile all GL accounts related to benefits
• Be a back-up for the payroll function, process new hires, timesheet, payroll changes
• Maintain vacation accruals on payroll system. Liaise with HR when discrepancies occur
• Benefit reconciliation for terminations
• Answer employee benefit inquiries
• Distribute GWL booklets, MSP pamphlets, and GWL cards to newly enrolled employees
• Order booklets and pamphlets through GWL and MSP
• Host benefit session for new hires
• Act as liaison between employees and health insurance provider
Must Have
• Minimum 2 years’ benefits administration experience
• Good understanding of different benefit plans (Health & Dental, Life Insurance, LTD, AD&D)
• Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience dealing with employees’ benefits queries
• Proficient skills in Excel
Nice to Have
• Payroll administration experience
