Job Description : Senior Business Analyst / Data Analyst

Purpose:
This role will be responsible for the following key activities:
-       Analyze and document established processes for data changes in source systems;  then propose changes based on target state with the engagement of the appropriate stakeholders
-       Analyze data from various source systems and mapping it to the target repository
-       Confirm the quality of the data by checking against internal and external data sources
-       Finalize data details and load data to the target repository
-       Continuous engagement with an Operations team to manage loaded data and transition of revised processes 
-       Define requirements for application changes
-       Plan and conduct User Acceptance Testing as well as support Production Implementation Verification (PIV)

Key Accountabilities:

Requirements & Data Analysis and Documentation
•       Perform stakeholder analysis to identify impacted or influencing groups and stakeholder requirements responsibilities
•       Facilitate collaborative sessions with large and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review
•       Apply advanced elicitation techniques to work with different types of stakeholder groups
•       Analyze and document detailed business and system solution requirements using enterprise standard requirements methodology
•       Analyze and document BAU business processes
•       Propose business process changes and finalize with the engagement of the appropriate stakeholders.
•       Verify requirements for quality and validate requirements with the impacted stakeholders
•       Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives, following the enterprise standards
•       Conduct data analysis on source systems and complete data mapping between source and target systems.
•       Compare entity data from various internal and external sources
•       Finalize entity data to be added to a central repository

Requirements Management and Support
•       Prepare requirements for review applying various communication techniques and lead requirements walkthrough and sign off sessions
•       Apply advanced coverage analysis techniques to ensure relationship between scope, detailed requirements, and testing through to implementation
•       Resolve conflicts/issues on behalf of BA team and escalate as required
•       Support Design and Development activities by providing requirements clarifications
•       Develop UAT plan and create User Acceptance Test cases
•       Conduct UAT verification
•       Support UAT and PIV activities including planning, defect triage, and root-cause analysis for requirements-related issues
•       Support the development of the end-user documentation and training

Leadership and Relationship Management
•       Provide guidance and support to build the capabilities of the junior BAs and Operations team
•       Support the consistency of standards and adherence to enterprise requirements methodology within own BA team
•       Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members and stakeholders
•       Establish an environment of cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork among colleagues, business groups and Technology
•       Enhance skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization and within the Business Analysis domain

Capabilities & Skills:
•       5 + years experience
•       Working as a Business Analyst with progressively increasing responsibilities in the areas of requirements management on large and complex projects
•       Experience in Business Process analysis and mapping
•       Expert in data analysis, mapping and comparisons between various sources

Education:
•       Relevant college, university, or post-graduate degree in Business Analysis
•       Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute –Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PMI – PBA) (Preferred)
•       Masters Certificate in Business Analysis (Preferred)

Details on skills and knowledge:
•       Proven experience with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative and/or Agile.   Agile experience preferred.
•       Experience in requirements planning and prioritization including stakeholder analysis and effort estimation
•       Requirements elicitation techniques such as Document analysis, Interviews, Facilitated workshops, Observation, Prototyping, Focus groups, Surveys
•       Requirements analysis and documentation:
•       Business Process Modelling
•       Use Cases and Scenarios
•       Data Requirements
•       Business Rules Analysis and Decision Modelling
•       User Stories, Story Decomposition, and Story Mapping
•       Acceptance and Evaluation Criteria Definition
•       Requirements management and communication – requirements walkthroughs; scope and change management; traceability; configuration management, Backlog Management
•       Proficient in Excel using macros, VLOOKUP, powerquery
•       Experience in R language or other tool to create scripts to facilitate data comparisons would be an asset

Additional comments:
o       The team is building a repository of legal entities (aka Client Master) which is a foundational component within the ACE Program in I&TS.   This role will be part of an agile team reporting to the Product Owner and interacting with other labs/teams in the program as well as technical and operational teams in various areas within I&TS.
