Reporting to Manager, Engineering Management &Control Networks, IP Network Analyst will be involved in projects which will have a focus on IP networks and security/FW. The successful incumbent will perform the role of an Engineering Analyst in area of engineering LAN/WAN, L2 Switching, L3 IP Routing (OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, BGP and Multicast), MPLS-VPN, Network Security/Firewall technology and other IP services. He or she designs and evaluates criteria for a variety of engineering products or activities; optimizes networks and integrates new sites into networks and ensures that specifications/plans have been engineered to acceptable standards.
Responsibilities:
·         Analyse routing and firewall policies on different network nodes. Produce Engineering plans to optimize ACLs and Routing.
·         Participate in the requirements analysis for new and modified services and products and required technologies. Solution may involve new and untested technology, applications or approaches.
·         Design plans that meets the stated requirements in functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, cost and support.
·         Develop and produce suitable Network Design, Service Management Plan, Provisioning Plan, Capacity Model/Plan, and Facilities Plan and support the defined services and products within the established architecture and security policies.
·         Ensure disciplined, methodical and professional design process is executed on a consistent basis.
·         Understand and execute project plans to complete tasks relative to technology validation, milestones, and budget.
·         Assist in the accurate and timely determination capital and operating expenses. Provide necessary spending status updates, forecasts, and escalate expected cost overruns.
·         Provide support to Network Planning and Operations.
·         Provide regular project status and issues for escalation.
·         Be aware and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy.
 
Qualifications:
·         Certifications – CCNP Required
·                                  CCIE Preferred
·         Minimum 5 years of network design and support experience
·         Previous experience in design/build and support of:
  • L2 Switching, Spanning-Tree, Data Center,
  • L3 Routing including EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS and BGP,
  • MPLS and MPLS L2/L3 VPN,
  • Network Security and Firewall (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX),
  • IPSEC VPN,
  • AAA, Syslog, DNS
·         Be familiar with Cisco and Juniper network equipment.
·         Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation, documentation and problem solving skills.
·         Highly adaptive and flexible to changing environments and priorities. Multitasking.
 
Nice to Have:
·         IPv6 planning and deployment experience would be strong asset
·         Juniper Certifications an asset
·         University Degree or Diploma in related field
