Position Purpose:

This role is intended for the Capital Markets RDARR Program (Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting program). RDARR is an enterprise-wide, multi-year program with an objective to improve overall quality, comprehensives and timeliness of all risk data and risk reporting across the Bank (for all risk types and systems). The program is in response to the BCBS 239 regulation, where all banks must be compliant by December 2016.
As a Senior Business Analyst in Trading Risk IT, you will partner with business users in order to fully understand and capture all relevant business requirements for technology solutions that support client’s Global Risk Management teams. Trading Risk IT provides technology solutions for Enterprise Market Risk, Trading Credit Risk, and Liquidity Risk across our global business lines.  Your role is to ensure that technology solutions align with business needs, by understanding client requirements, preparing specification documents, and working with development managers and project managers to prioritize requirements and implement functionality.

Key Accountabilities:

- Document business requirements, design and model solutions, and work with development teams throughout system implementation and delivery.
- Pro-actively communicate and collaborate with business clients to analyze functional requirements and deliver the appropriate artefacts as needed: business requirement documents, functional specifications, data specifications, use cases, workflow analysis, reports and user-interface layouts and designs, test cases, etc.
- Ensure that new solutions address immediate business needs, while ensuring system alignment with global technology strategy and application roadmaps.
- Act as the first line of contact to interface with Global Risk Management business users.
- Advocate for the business to ensure that IT delivers solutions that meet business needs.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to create a clear understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Conduct data analysis in support of applications and projects, including identifying and documenting business rules, data needs and data specifications.
- Collaborate across application development and technology teams within IT to ensure that business requirements are fully understood.
- Participate in design, development, testing and implementation of solutions.
- A key member of the project team, the BA works with the project manager, development manager, developers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
- Help to support, maintain and debug existing applications and systems.
- Participate and assist with testing, configuration/release management, and deployment.

Knowledge and Experience:
- Undergrad degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field.
- MBA, CFA, graduate degree in Finance or Economics an asset.
- 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, and working with financial products such as: Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, and related Derivative products.
- Prior experience with any of the following Regulatory initiatives – Basel II, Basel III, Dodd Frank, FBO and Volcker Rules.

Skills & Competencies:
- As a Senior BA, you will be perceived within IT as an expert in the area of Risk Management for financial trading products.
- Risk IT BAs must have an exceptional knowledge of financial analytics.
- Must have excellent understanding of trading room and derivative products, including fixed income, equity, foreign exchange, commodities, and related derivatives: futures, forwards, swaps and options.
- Must have knowledge and experience working with finance, banking and/or risk management systems.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and development best practices within the software development life cycle.
- Experience using business analysis and requirements modeling tools, such as: data flow diagrams, relationship data models, XML modeling, business process modelling.
- Experience in unit and integration testing and test case design.
- Understanding of derivative product pricing, risk and sensitivities calculations, and financial risk management is an asset.
