Job Overview:
The Team Lead, Software Packagers (AHS) reports to the Manager, Operations. The Lead is responsible for applying software packaging techniques to application and configuration changes, resulting in efficient, automated, distribution processes that will reliably run in the managed desktop environment.

  1. Lead the day to day workload assignments and represent the team in coordinating desktop system changes with other support teams, business units, developers, and/or external vendors.
  2. Designing, creating, and maintaining programs and scripts to setup business applications, product patches, and updates, to thousands of managed desktops, across many business units, as a seamless, consistent process.
  3. Provide support to the technologies in used in the client’s environment such as software licensing, security templates, Group Policy, DFS, software automation and distribution.
  4. Have a role in the evaluation, and implementation of new technologies / services for software packaging and desktop management.
  5. Assist other functional/technical team(s) with queue and/or ticket volumes.
  6. Other IT related duties as required.
  7. Support executive and management direction.
  8. Understands and demonstrates the willingness to promote client's vision and values

Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills & Abilities):
  1. Diploma and/or Degree in IT related field
  2. Experience leading technical teams (Coaching/Mentoring) and ability to grow expertise within teams
  3. Effective communication and business writing skills
  4. Experience with
    1. Application packaging for central distribution and/or application virtualization
    2. Scripting tools such as WinBatch, MS Visual Basic, Wise, Installshield
    3. Administering Microsoft SCCM, SMS and WSUS servers, Antivirus Patch distribution services, Trend and Norton.
    4. MS Windows security technologies such as ADS, file and registry ACLs
    5. Supporting Windows  XP Professional & Windows 7
    6. Troubleshooting and problem resolution for software and hardware issues
  5. Experience with the following tools and/or processes:
    1. ITSM Remedy Queue Management
    2. ITIL V3 Foundations Certification
    3. Ability to develop strong technical documentation and training packages.
    4. Experience with Change Management Approval processes.
    5. AppV, Sequencing, VMware Knowledge
