Job Description

Position Requirements:
The Data Governance Specialist is responsible for consulting, developing, implementing and overseeing all Data Governance related projects
Development and maintenance of comprehensive databases ensuring effective integration of key intelligence from a variety of sources
Development and maintenance of integrated performance measurement and reporting systems
Evolving and managing cross functional processes to ensure data integrity and compliance across numerous and diverse user communities
Advise and/or develop data governance models and processes using approaches such as master data management and reference data management.
Help clients to identify Critical Data Entities (CDEs) for in scope business domains
Champion the use of data to drive decision making
Inform clients of quality standards/thresholds of acceptance for data input
Perform data quality monitoring/analysis/measurement.
Report on data quality based on findings
Desired Skills and Experience
Undergraduate degree, preferably in IT, computer science or engineering
Proven experience in defining a data governance operating model, communicating the model and implementing it
Highly knowledgeable regarding oversight of data management goals, standards, practices, process, and technologies
Working experience with SQL
Experience working through Governance, Risk, and Control related issues
Experience with defining Critical Data Elements and Data Lineage
Comfortable using IBM IGC (Information Governance Catalog)
Comfortable using Information Analyzer OR Collibra OR Informatica Business Glossary
Ability to manage multiple demands within tight timelines
Demonstrate excellent analytical and logical thinking.
Strong understanding of data quality and data governance best practices.
Strong communication skills, including presentation, verbal & written
