emergiTEL is seeking an IPRAN Analyst for our telecom client based in Brampton. These resources will be the drivers in the implementation process. They will be responsible for the Call Site IP network and will mainly focused on provisioning and logical work. They will received a work order from Engineering, review the specs and work with the Field Operation Technicians to complete the work.

As part of the 2018 Uplift Program this team will be responsible for replacing 1000 legacy Cisco routers in the GTA to new, higher capacity technology.

What we’re looking for:
-       Strong communicator with a good grasp of Canadian geography
-       MANDATORY CCNA certification (any other Cisco certifications would be a huge asset)
-       MANDATORY Telecom experience
-       Proficiency will MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
-       Remedy ticketing system (change control, problem management etc.)
-       Cisco iOS upgrades
-       Knowledge of Microwave technology (basic commands)
-       Team player

Key Responsibilities/Job Functions:
  • Responsible for Wireless Access network IPRAN Cisco router provisioning/commissioning activities that include Node-B Commissioning, IP conversions, Microwave IP Hot Cut, IP address changes, and transmission cutovers/traffic migrations, Gige IP Ring closure, and IP transmission testing.
  • Complete Wireless/wire-line IP access network Cisco router device Acceptance Tests, Access network Cisco node insertions, and complete Cisco IOS, XR software upgrades.
  • Able to work on scheduled nights shifts midnight to 8AM, and occasional weekends.

Job Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate qualification, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication, or Computer Engineering.
  • CCNA or CCNP Cisco Certification or equivalent required.
  • Big-picture thinking across technology and business, ability to perform both technical solution design and business case analysis.
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience at an engineering position or a business position in Telecom industry, preferably in a voice service related role.
  • Strong knowledge on telephony network, cable network, voice network hierarchy (5 classes), Voice over IP, traffic engineering and other supporting networks, i.e. Transport, Data/IP,
  • Signaling, Operations Support Systems, i.e. billing, provisioning, etc.
  • Knowledge on various telecommunication standards and protocols, SS7, SIP, DOCSIS, MPLS, SONET, BGP, LTE, HSPA
  • Proven ability to deliver results with tight timelines.
  • Quick learning and effective researching skills are a must.
  • Demonstrated strong modeling and analytical skills; a high level of attention to detail and result required.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, ability to drive and to close the discussion with multi-functional groups
