Our client is a family owned, team orientated Jewellery store in Vancouver. They are  looking for a professional, talented, organized, highly motivated and above average performer to be a Store Manager. Unlike other large retail corporations, this company is a proud, locally owned and uniquely original business which has been successful for over 27 years. Specializing in Hand Crafted Canadian jewellery carrying work from over 100 of Canada’s top designers, including a large selection of First Nations jewellery. This opportunity would be a great fit for some one looking to either transition to a smaller store where they can be more hands on in selecting and working with local vendors or for a current Assistant Manager who would like to take a step up and also who holds a desire to be more hands on and drive both store and web sales.
Candidates will ideally  have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager in a retail location of a related nature (Jewellery, Native Art, Fashion, Tourism related retail). You must have a proven track record of above average performance, be very organized, able to multitask in a fast paced environment, and be a leader, mentor and coach. The Store Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the business.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to;  
·      Store work including customer service, visual merchandising, admin tasks etc
·      Team management, training, recruiting and hiring new employees, scheduling rotas, budgeting, payroll etc
·      Vendor management including selecting and paying vendors, purchasing and ordering product, maintaining relationships with current artists and seeking out new artists with the potential for travel within Canada and the United States.
·      Supporting or managing web sales and website management, social media digital marketing etc,
 
The ideal candidate will have:
• 5 years of Manager or Assistant Manager experience ideally from jewellery/fashion/Native Art/ Tourism based retail environment
• Demonstrable leadership and communication skills. 
•  A passion for jewellery and have their own personal style that is confident and professional. Applicants must be highly knowledgeable about current fashion trends and how to help make her customers look their best. 
• A strong sense of visual merchandising, store organization and time efficiency. 
• Applicant must understand the principles of loss prevention, inventory management, conflict resolution, problem solving and be proficient with a computer and Windows.  
Digital marketing and social media capabilities would be an added bonus.
 The work schedule is 5 days a week Tuesday to Saturday, with two days in a row off. However, applicant must be flexible to accommodate the needs of the store and staff. The salary is very competitive and added incentives such as bonus, access to vacation properties, medical benefits etc.
