EMC Storage Engineer

Our client is seeking and EMC Storage Engineer for a consultation project. This role will be a true project
with 20 hours a week for a period of 6 months that then may be extended or have the opportunity to go permanent.
The EMC Storage Engineer will advise on the Enterprise Storage Infrastructure and serves as Subject
Matter Expert in multiple areas of data storage and protection. This responsibility includes ensuring the
data storage and protection systems run at optimal levels, and are leveraged to service business needs
as effectively as possible, from the most basic storage platform to the most advanced data replication and
presentation strategies.
 Plan, recommend and implement strategies around attached storage solutions
 Lead and take responsibility for production storage system development from requirements to
release, including detailed design, analysis, implementation, testing and optimization;
 Work with a team of engineers and administrators across all infrastructure groups managing
multiple datacenters in a rapidly expanding infrastructure;
 Lead efforts to leverage metrics in the management of storage arrays and complex computing
systems to drive automation, improvement and performance; and
 Develops and leverages robust management and reporting tools to provide insight into storage
trends, performance and data protection across all platforms and data centers.
 Requiremed to have experience with storage and / or host based data migration approaches 
 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, technical field;
 5+ years of experience with NAS and SAN infrastructure management, enterprise storage and
data warehouse platforms;
 Extensive knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies and operational norms across
both storage and systems technologies, in depth knowledge of networking technologies a plus;
 Solid hands-on experience with EMC Storage technologies including Isilon, VMAX, VNX,
XtremeIO, SyncIQ, VPLEX, RecoverPoint, and Data Domain;
 Experience with HPCC/Hadoop clusters and storage requirements;
 Ability to work across teams and disciplines to see complex problems from initiation to resolution;
 Expert troubleshooter with a highly developed ability to resolve difficult problems with salable and
maintainable solutions; and
 Detail oriented with thorough systems documentation and reporting skills;
