Digital Strategy Manager - Finance, Budget Operations, Investment 

What you'll do: 
Our digital team is looking for strategy talent. This position is a full-time, renewable 1-year contract position. 

What you'll be responsible for: 
Be accountable for the overall budget operations strategy towards the realization of the digital vision, ensuring that our Customers First approach is followed 
Work with digital outcome owners to ensure budget and ROI targets are identified and tracked - make recommendations on how to adjust our investment strategy when outcomes are not reached or are at risk 

Be able to look beyond the numbers of a budget to the story they tell, and how they can be leveraged to drive business outcomes – understand the connection between financial and business outcomes 

Help our organization connect the dots – with a team of over 300 digital professionals working to deliver exceptional digital experiences, there’s a lot of moving pieces. Help connect them to bring clarity, purpose, and focus to our teams. 

Support various strategic efforts across the digital team - be willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever needs to be done for us to be successful 

Link our investment management, budget operations, and budget strategy to individual team members’ daily efforts - build strategy and vision into our ways of working 

Act as a customer experience and digital advocate and demonstrate passion and dedication to enabling and optimizing a digital-first end to end customer experience 

Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the TELUS organization 

Drive new and ongoing continuous improvement efforts across the digital team 

What you'll need to be successful: 
3+ years in a Management Consulting or Strategy Consulting environment, with experience / exposure to digital strategy and demonstrated career progression 
OR 
5+ years in a strategic and digital/customer-focused role, ideally within the Communications or High Tech industries with demonstrated performance and career progression 

Prior experience or exposure in finance – you don’t need to be an accountant or a finance professional, but you need to be able to speak their language 

Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity and take charge of difficult situations - you are able to identify a set of options and a make recommendations on a particular course of action, even in great uncertainty 

Your expertise as a numbers person: strong experience in managing budgets, forecasting models, business cases 

Strong desire to roll your sleeves up and get things done is a must - no task it beneath you, you are willing to do whatever it takes for TELUS Digital to be successful 

Strong storytelling and presentation skills - ability to understand diverse audience and tune message, generate storyboard, develop materials, and communicate effectively to stakeholders, even under pressure, including to senior leadership and executive audiences 

Demonstrated experience communicating broad strategic initiatives to both key stakeholders and diverse internal teams 

Ability to simultaneously tackle multiple projects and challenges with enthusiasm 

Experience navigating and partnering with a large and diverse stakeholder mix 

Highly organized and detail oriented, with exceptional time management and prioritization abilities 

Ability to manage stress – a sense of humour and ability to maintain a positive outlook even under pressure is critical
