Job Description:
The candidate will be in charge of executing, troubleshooting and resolving the IREG tests with international and domestic roaming partners on 2G, 3G, LTE, postpaid/prepaid networks, and all new network technologies as per business requirements.
Services including voice, data, SMS, MMS, … will be tested, as well as any required service.

Responsibilities include:

-       Follow testing procedures and GSMA test scripts (IR24  / IR35 / IR32 / IR50 / IR38…) and any other appropriate test script to test all required services.
-       Troubleshooting all scenarios on all services (voice and data, all technologies) and solving technical issues in a timely manner.
-       Managing sim cards, labeling and storage.
-       Set up and handle common testing with domestic and international operators.
-       Create, handle, monitors, repair and close trouble tickets.
-       Communicate, coordinate and interface with internal groups (TAC, Engineering, NOC, Roaming Business, Engineering … and any other relevant group) as well as with third parties and Roaming Partners.
-       Reporting on a weekly basis or any other appropriate timeline.
-       Using internal tools (sim database,eWO applications, Remedy…).
-       Escalation as required.
-       Follow ups with roaming partners in order to ensure Roaming Partners perform their testing duties using sim cards in a timely manner.
-       Be available and troubleshoot issues Roaming Partners will have on their side
-       Participate to weekly calls/meeting to evaluate work progression
-       Participate to process enhancement for IREG testing

The candidate(s) must demonstrate:
-       Previous roaming technical experience in a GSM/UMTS network
-       Deep advanced knowledge on SS7 call flows and Diameter
-       Knowledge of GSM/UMTS/LTE network, protocols and services
-       Demonstrated System troubleshooting skills are essential,
-       A relevant working experience in a Roaming environment
-       Excellent communication skills
-       Excellent reporting skills and coordination
-       Ready to take challenges and succeed
-       Open minded and volunteer to join a highly skilled team
-       Experience with Tektronix tracing tool (IRIS) is an advantage
-       French speaking is an asset


-       Special Condition:
o       flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as required, including weekends and holidays, and availability to work overtime.

Looking for a Sr. Network Technician ideally with Roaming experience (if they have worked with any of the listed GSMA test scripts, i.e., IR24  / IR35 / IR32 / IR50 / IR38, this would be perfect) to do manual testing for Roaming Expansion Program, testing the new LTE Roaming agreements. They should have solid experience with 2G/3G/LTE/GSM/UMTS networks, as well as experience with SS7 and tracing tools (IRIS by Tektronix would be ideal, but will consider Wireshark, Access7, or others).  A combination of experience with both voice and data networks will be preferred, as well as familiarity with basic Unix commands.
 Manager is ideally looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, he will consider people with less experience that display a solid ability to learn. Skills/Experience  in order of preference are Roaming, SS7 and tracing tools (IRIS), and having both voice/data network experience. Please note the work location is in Montreal.***
