The Opportunity
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Full Stack Lead Developer to support a large-scale CIAM initiative for a major Canadian financial institution. The role sits within a broader technology team delivering secure authentication capabilities for customer-facing and call-centre applications, including functionality connected to a wider agentic AI transformation.This is a lead role, but it is not a purely managerial position. The successful candidate must be comfortable designing, coding, troubleshooting and improving applications directly, while coordinating approximately three offshore developers and maintaining effective follow-the-sun delivery handoffs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and enhance full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot and Angular.
- Develop secure, scalable and maintainable back-end services and front-end experiences for customer and call-centre use cases.
- Integrate applications with CIAM services, authentication flows, REST APIs and secured API endpoints.
- Troubleshoot issues across development, test and UAT environments, including hands-on diagnosis and code-level remediation.
- Use Git and modern software development practices to manage source code, reviews, releases and deployment readiness.
- Work with DB2 and related application data components as part of the end-to-end solution.
- Provide day-to-day technical direction to offshore developers, review work quality and coordinate effective handoffs.
- Collaborate with client technology leads, architects and delivery stakeholders in an Agile environment.
- Communicate progress, risks and technical decisions clearly in a client-facing consulting environment.
Required Experience and Skills
- Advanced hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for enterprise back-end development.
- Strong Angular experience building modern single-page or customer-facing applications.
- Demonstrated full-stack engineering capability across application design, development, integration and troubleshooting.
- Practical experience with Git, REST APIs, API security and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience leading or coordinating developers while remaining highly hands-on.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with senior client and consulting stakeholders.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and ability to attend the Toronto office two days per week.
Preferred Experience
- Previous work on CIAM, access management, authentication or authorization initiatives.
- Experience with call-centre authentication, out-of-band authentication or customer identity verification journeys.
- Banking, financial services or other regulated enterprise experience.
- Experience coordinating onshore and offshore teams in a follow-the-sun delivery model.

- Offshore developers receive clear direction and effective handoffs, while client stakeholders see a credible senior engineer and dependable technical lead.
