Job Summary

The Government of Alberta's Digital Design & Delivery (DDD) division is seeking experienced QA Automation Developers to support digital transformation and modernization initiatives across multiple ministries.

Working within Agile, cross-functional product teams, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automated testing strategies that ensure high-quality digital services. This role includes creating automation frameworks, test plans, performance testing, security testing, CI/CD integration, quality metrics, and supporting modern software delivery practices including BDD/TDD.

This is a primarily remote opportunity; however, candidates must be available to attend occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton, Alberta when required. Work must be performed within Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated testing frameworks.
  • Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
  • Develop automated functional, regression, integration, API, performance, load, and security tests.
  • Implement and maintain automated test suites.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing.
  • Promote quality engineering practices including BDD and TDD.
  • Perform test automation using modern automation frameworks.
  • Collect quality metrics and generate automated reports.
  • Support reusable testing frameworks and AI-assisted testing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, and DevOps teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement.
