Position: QA Automation Developer
This is 10 Months Contract role.
Pay Rate: $60 - $63.00/hour Incorporated
Location: Edmonton, AB (Remote)

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute comprehensive test activities, including developing and maintaining test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases.
Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for UI, API, system, regression, and integration testing.
Apply formal testing methodologies and select appropriate testing types based on project, system, and release requirements.
Work with open-source automation frameworks and tools, including Selenium WebDriver and Node.js/NPM-based ecosystems.
Track, analyze, prioritize, and document defects using enterprise defect management systems.
Communicate technical quality risks, defect impacts, and readiness assessments to project leadership.
Produce and analyze quality metrics and test reports to support continuous improvement.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Collaborate closely with developers, architects, designers, and product owners.
Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines.
Use Git-based source control systems for collaboration and code management.
Conduct API and UI testing to validate functional and integration requirements.
Support testing activities related to enterprise systems and modernization initiatives.
Document changes to test assets, environments, and processes.

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as a QA Automation Developer in an Agile environment.
Minimum 2 years of experience creating, executing, and maintaining automated tests.
At least 1 year of experience in test planning and strategy development.
At least 2 years of experience with automation frameworks, including UI, performance, or load testing.
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Node.js/NPM.
At least 2 years of experience with Cypress or Playwright.
At least 2 years of experience using Git or similar version control systems.
At least 1 year of experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of testing methodologies and testing types.
Experience with API and UI testing concepts.
Experience with enterprise systems such as financial, billing, insurance, or taxation platforms is considered an asset.

Top 3 Skills
Strong experience in QA Automation using Selenium WebDriver with JavaScript in a Node.js ecosystem.
Hands-on expertise with modern automation tools such as Cypress or Playwright.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines within Agile environments.

Work Conditions
Full-time availability during Alberta business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM).
Ability to provide a current criminal record check upon request.
