emergiTEL is hiring a Principal Cloud Platform Engineer for our client in the financial services industry. This is a Permanent role.
Compensation: $150,000 - $175,000/year

Job Description (English)

• Combine operational support and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant cloud services and systems.
• Ensure cloud services are secure, available, scalable, and optimized for performance.
• Monitor system capacity and performance, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
• Test, integrate, and establish key cloud infrastructure components.
• Maintain services by measuring and monitoring system availability and overall environment health.
• Scale systems sustainably through automation and continuous improvement to enhance reliability and delivery velocity.
• Analyze processes and improve operational efficiency by creating streamlined workflows and standards.
• Integrate cloud architecture, development, administration, and security practices into unified solutions.
• Design, develop, architect, and deploy cloud-native applications.
• Collaborate with development teams and technical experts to build enterprise solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Promote the adoption of modern cloud architectures, engineering best practices, and emerging cloud technologies.
• Review and enhance existing systems to meet evolving requirements.
• Identify and resolve issues during application deployment processes.
• Document deployment, maintenance, installation, and operational procedures for applications and infrastructure.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams to enhance cloud expertise.
• Foster a culture aligned with organizational values, diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Build and support high-performing teams and contribute to talent development.
• Operate at an enterprise level as a specialist resource for senior stakeholders.
• Apply creative thinking to solve complex, ambiguous, and non-routine problems.
• Implement system changes aligned with evolving business and technology trends.
• Apply risk management principles to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience with a degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in:
  • Cloud cost management and financial reporting
  • Cloud economics frameworks
  • Relationship building and learning agility
• Advanced proficiency in:
  • Cloud security, DevOps, and cloud computing
  • Cloud networking, sizing, and optimization
  • Enterprise cloud strategy and governance
  • Programming and scripting languages
  • Technical writing and documentation
  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical problem solving
  • Collaboration across cross-functional teams
  • Managing ambiguity and complex problem-solving
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
