Tire Buyer

remote, Ontario
The Role
  • The Buyer owns day-to-day execution on an assigned portfolio of brands and product lines. This includes purchase order management, supplier coordination, inventory positioning, data integrity, and pricing discipline within the assigned book. The role is fully remote and operates on Eastern Time across our Quebec, Ontario, and Maritimes warehouses, and with overseas suppliers.
  • We are looking for an experienced purchasing professional with tire or automotive aftermarket background who can operate independently, ask the right questions, and follow through without being managed in detail.
  • Own a defined portfolio of brands and SKU families end-to-end: forecast, order, land, position, and sell-through.
  • Build and maintain supplier scorecards for assigned brands: fill rate, lead time, freight performance, ETA accuracy, claim resolution.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for sales, warehouse, and customer service on assigned lines.
Core Responsibilities
  • Place and manage POs against forecast, sell-through, seasonality, and current on-hand. Maintain ETA and in-transit accuracy.
  • Manage backorders proactively with sales and suppliers. No surprises to the field.
  • Resolve receiving discrepancies, claims, returns, and order synchronization issues with manufacturers.
  • Plan and execute inter-warehouse stock transfers to balance regional demand against landed cost.
  • Protect margin integrity on assigned brands: monitor sellout pricing, flag market drift, and surface margin compression early.
  • Maintain data integrity in NetSuite: pricing, item attributes, discontinued status, ETAs, images, and product creation.
  • Support Joel on supplier negotiations, program reviews, and seasonal booking cycles.
  • Run weekly and ad hoc reporting for assigned brands.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years in purchasing, inventory planning, supply chain, or category management. Tire, automotive aftermarket, or parts distribution experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of an ERP (NetSuite an asset). Comfort with Excel well beyond pivots and VLOOKUPs.
  • Strong analytical instincts. You see patterns in run rates, fill rates, and margin movement, and you act on them.
  • Strong English, written and oral, is required. Functional French, Mandarin, or Cantonese is a significant asset given our supplier and warehouse footprint.
  • Ability to work core hours in Eastern Time.
  • Detail orientation that survives volume and time pressure.
  • Ownership mentality. You close loops without being asked twice.
  • Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Working Style
  • Fully remote. No travel to Canada required. You will work autonomously but in close daily contact with the purchasing team, sales leadership, and warehouse operations. The pace is fast and the environment is direct -we expect candor, accountability, and good judgment.
