UX Designer - 2026-30

Position - UX Designer
Duration - 12 months contract
Location - Calgary, Alberta (100 % remote - Anywhere in Canada)
Payrate - competitive payrate

 

We are seeking a talented and experienced UX Designer to join our UX design team. As the UX Designer, you will be instrumental in shaping the user experience of the business, ensuring it is intuitive, engaging, and meets the needs of our users. You will champion user-centered design principles, drive design excellence, and collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional products.

Responsibilities:
● Design Exceptional Experiences: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of UX designers, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality design output.
● Collaborate with partners in UX, Product & Design: Work closely with Managed Services partners, including UX designers, copywriters and researchers.
● Design Process and Standards: Establish and maintain UX design processes, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency.
● Collaboration and Communication: Effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams and stakeholders, building strong working relationships.
● User Research and Testing: Plan, conduct, and analyze user research and usability testing to gather insights and inform design decisions.

Qualifications:
● 4+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions for web and/or mobile applications.
● Proven ability to design exceptional experiences, and deliver designs that can be delivered by engineering teams.
● Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
● Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.
● Experience planning and conducting various types of user research and usability testing.
● Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale clearly and persuasively.
● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
● Experience working in an Agile development environment.
● Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).

Bonus Points:
● Experience designing for Canadian Banks and/or FIs, specifically Business Banking applications.
● Experience with data visualization.
● Experience contributing to and maintaining a design system.
