Montreal, QC (Hybrid 2x/week) or Toronto, ON | Contract – Until Dec 31, 2026 (Multiple Extensions Expected)

Pay Rate: $70 – $80/hour INC

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Network Automation Engineer to contribute to our automation platform, which runs certification tests on telecom devices. You will combine strong Python programming and networking expertise to design, implement, and maintain automated solutions for network device certification. This is an ideal role for a professional who enjoys solving complex networking problems while developing scalable automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze existing manual test scenarios and identify opportunities for automation
Design and build automated test frameworks using Python and Robot Framework
Implement automation for network device certification processes
Ensure scalability, efficiency, and reliability of automated solutions
Collaborate with network engineers to validate expected outputs from automated scripts

Must-Have Skills

10+ years of Python scripting experience (data types, functions, classes, coding fundamentals)
Experience with network automation libraries (e.g., Netmiko, Paramiko, TextFSM)
Familiarity with open-source automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework, pyATS, Cisco Genie)
Hands-on experience configuring routers and switches
Experience configuring and troubleshooting key routing and switching protocols:
- Static and dynamic IP routing (IS-IS, BGP)
- VLANs, LACP, STP, trunking

Nice-to-Have Skills

Strong understanding of networking concepts (router and switch deployment)
Knowledge of routing protocols and VLAN configurations
