emergiTEL is hiring a Senior Risk Manager for our financial client. This is a Contract role.
Compensation: $88 – $110/hour
Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Hybrid)

Job Description (English)
About the Role

• Lead end-to-end risk assessments across large-scale initiatives, system implementations, and strategic projects.
• Identify vulnerabilities, strengthen internal controls, and ensure alignment with enterprise risk management frameworks.
• Partner cross-functionally to deliver actionable insights and support executive-level decision-making.

Risk Strategy & Assessment

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across major projects and system implementations.
• Identify gaps, dependencies, and vulnerabilities within proposed designs and processes.
• Align initiative-level risks with the broader Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.

Process Improvement & Framework Ownership

• Own and continuously enhance the NIRAP framework to support business growth and evolving regulatory requirements.
• Drive process maturity by improving risk methodologies and governance structures.

Control Validation & Innovation

• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across business processes.
• Develop and implement tools to map controls to end-to-end workflows and mitigate risk exposure.

Reporting & Insights

• Develop executive-level dashboards and reporting to track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
• Translate complex risk data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Provide ongoing visibility into risk exposure throughout the project lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, and Business Operations teams.
• Build strong relationships across multiple lines of defense to drive alignment and influence outcomes.
• Support organization-wide risk initiatives and strategic priorities.

What You’ll Need

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise, operational, or technology risk management.
• Professional designations such as FRM, CRM, CPA, or equivalent (preferred).
• Proven experience conducting complex risk assessments and validating internal controls.
• Strong ability to communicate complex concepts to executive audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of independence.
