Senior Systems Engineer

- Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call rotation required (weekly, low volume, occasional after-hours support)
Pay Rate:$40-$50/hr

Our client is looking for a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer who can step in quickly and support a small, high-performing infrastructure team. This person will take ownership of enterprise systems, ensure stability across environments, and act as a key escalation point for complex technical issues.
This is a practical, execution-focused role — ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently, collaborating globally, and managing both on-prem and cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Supporting and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure across multiple regions
- Managing hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud such as Microsoft Azure and VMware)
- Acting as an escalation point for critical system and infrastructure issues
- Monitoring system performance and proactively addressing risks
- Managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Ensuring systems meet security and compliance requirements (e.g., General Data Protection Regulation)
- Collaborating with global IT teams across time zones
- Supporting infrastructure-related projects and standardization initiatives
- Maintaining clear technical documentation
What You Bring
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering
- Strong experience supporting enterprise environments (Windows Server, Linux)
- Solid background in virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Proven experience working in hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or similar)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls)
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and infrastructure performance tuning
- Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Python)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with global teams
