Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees maintenance operations with a focus on precision and preventive maintenance to maximize plant and production equipment uptime. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role coaches and guides the maintenance team to ensure adherence to best practices, operational efficiency, and safety compliance. You will collaborate with operations and mechanical leaders to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance work while leading continuous improvement initiatives in reliability and safety.
Leadership & Operations
- Supervise and provide direction to maintenance staff for troubleshooting and equipment upkeep
- Monitor and approve inventory orders to control storeroom spending in line with budget
- Ensure staff compliance with corporate, plant, safety, and environmental standards
- Lead the development and implementation of continuous process improvement and reliability plans
- Coordinate daily and break-in work with operations and mechanical teams to improve reliability metrics
- Conduct safety meetings, identify high-risk situations, and lead maintenance-related safety initiatives
- Provide coaching and training to uphold safety, efficiency, and quality standards
- Support weekend or shift work as required to meet operational needs
Training & Professional Development
- Mentor and develop maintenance staff, promoting a “can-do” approach and continuous learning
- Foster a safety-first mindset and adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices
What You’ll Need
- 2-year technical degree in a maintenance-related discipline or equivalent work experience
- 3–5 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance environment
- Working knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment (pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes)
- Strong safety mindset and understanding of safety policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all organizational levels
- Initiative to problem solve and act independently
- Organized with strong time management skills to handle multiple priorities
Compensation
The salary for this position is $90,000 – $120,000 per year. Additional compensation includes full company benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
